PHOTO STUDIO INDUCTION
I attended a photo studio induction during which I learnt the correct techniques for using the various tools the studio possesses. These tools include the lights, the cameras, the backdrops and the various accessories. I now have access to the studio, which will hopefully provide a better quality of photos.
During the induction, we were shown how to manipulate the lights and the different type of lights. The type of lights include key, fill and back lighting. We were shown that the back light needs to be shone on the backdrop, the fill light needs to be a soft tone and the key light needs to be shone where the camera would be pointing at. In addition to this, we were shown how the lights work and move on the rails. This will be helpful to position the lights. Another thing we learnt relating to the lights is the fact that we can set the lights to flash the same time the camera flashes.
In relation to the cameras, we learnt several things, including: aperture sizes, focusing, shutter speeds and some other features.
This is a diagram of the various aperture sizes possible

CREATIVE PROCESSES OF THE GLITCH IN NINE BRIEF
PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY 1- HOLLY BUSH BACKGROUND
I started the editing process of this photo on Adobe Photoshop CC 2014.
The first thing I did was change the brightness down and the contrast up.
Next, I selected the subject's face, using the quick selection tool, and
turned the brightness up to give the subject an ethereal quality.
Then, I decided to add a vignette around the edges of the photo. To create
this effect, I used the brush tool to paint around the edges, as shown above.
Lastly, I changed the opacity of the paint to a lower degree to give the photo
the vignette and complete the edit.
PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY- TREE TRUNKS

I started the editing process of this photo on Adobe Photoshop CC 2014.
Firstly, I decreased the brightness and increased the contrast.
Next, I raised the red levels of the photo a little bit to make the red colours
in the photo more prominent, as before the colours were a bit bland.
Then, I decreased the brightness and increased the contrast to give the photo
a more cinematographic view about it.
In order to obscure the subject's face, I used the smudge tool (set with a
hardness of 75&). When you look at the photograph, you can just about make
out the subject's face but it still remains ambiguous as to who it is, which
was the intention behind this idea.
Lastly, to finish off, I thought the sky was very bright. I used the burn tool at
a hardness of 50% to darken the edges of the photograph slightly. This has a
subtle effect of focusing the emphasis of the viewer's attention on the middle
of the photograph.
